About the research centre or Inria department

The Inria center at the Université de Saclay is one of nine Inria centers, with some forty research teams. The Inria center is a major and recognized player in the field of digital sciences. It is at the heart of France's richest research and training ecosystem. Neuroscience and artificial intelligence (AI) are two major themes in this research and teaching ecosystem.

Context

This junior professorship is part of the development of computational cognitive neuroscience within the Paris-Saclay ecosystem. It is an emerging field at the intersection of AI and neuroscience, with several key players gathered around NeuroSpin (CEA Saclay), Neuropsi (CNRS, Université Paris-Saclay), and the Inria Saclay Ile-de-France center, including the hosting MIND project team. The strengths of this position lie in access to state-of-the-art neuroimaging and electrophysiology platforms, as well as a hub of high-level scientists from Inria, Inserm, and CNRS in the immediate environment. In addition, the Unicog and MIND teams bring advanced expertise in AI for cognition and data science.

Assignment

The person recruited will be responsible for developing research in computational cognitive neuroscience in conjunction with the NeuroSpin and Neuropsi neuroscience centers, and with Inria.

In addition, he/she will be responsible for developing a joint project team on topics linking AI and computational cognitive neuroscience. To achieve this objective, he/she will be able to draw on the expertise of the MIND joint team.

From a teaching point of view, the person recruited will support the neuroscience and artificial intelligence teaching teams at Université Paris Saclay, notably in the Master of Computational Neuroscience and Neuroengineering.

Neuroscience and AI are priorities for the University of Paris-Saclay and for Inria's involvement in the university.
