Contexte et atouts du poste

Inria Nancy – Grand Est is seeking a project manager for a new European (H2020 ICT) collaborative project on voice interaction called COMPRISE. The successful candidate will be part of the Multispeech team, which gathers 40 researchers (faculty, postdocs, PhD students), and software engineers in the field of speech and audio processing. The team is very international and English is the working language.

COMPRISE is a 3-year R&D project aiming at new cost-effective, multilingual, privacy-driven voice interaction technology. This will be achieved through research advances on privacy-preserving data collection, weakly-supervised learning, and tighter integration of speech and dialogue processing with machine translation, as well as the development of a holistic easy-to-use SDK interoperating with a cloud-based platform. The technology will be based on existing software toolkits (Kaldi speech-to-text, Platon dialog processing, Tilde text-to-speech), as well as new speech and language processing and machine learning software to be developed by the researchers and the software engineers involved in the project. It will be demonstrated for three sectors with high commercial impact: smart consumer apps, e-commerce, and e-health.

The consortium includes 30 researchers and software engineers from 6 academic and industrial partners in France (Inria, Netfective Technology), Germany (Ascora, Saarland University), Latvia (Tilde), and Spain (Rooter). Frequent travel to visit partners is required (up to 5 times a year).

Mission confiée

The project manager will be responsible for animating and orchestrating all aspects of the project, in daily collaboration with the project coordinator, Emmanuel Vincent, and in close connection with the partners of the COMPRISE consortium, Multispeech’s administrative assistant, and Inria’s support staff (HR, finance, legal, travel, communication).

Besides the management of COMPRISE, the successful candidate will be expected to devote about half of his/her time to other activities relevant to Inria Nancy – Grand Est.
