Contexte et atouts du poste

This position is available in the Inria Agora team in the Lyon center, formed of 6 permanent researchers and 15 PhD students. The position is funded by a French national project, in collaboration with Orange, Ericsson and CEA. 

Teaching involvement possible at INSA Lyon.

Mission confiée

Assignments :
The recruited person will conduct research on the topic of cellular networks. We are interested in any candidate with experience in this field. Potential subjects to be addressed by the recruited person are: network slicing, user association, aerial base stations, cellular network metrology, network data analysis.

Collaboration :
The recruited person will work under the supervision of Dr. Razvan Stanica (http://perso.citi.insa-lyon.fr/rstanica/) and Prof. Fabrice Valois (http://perso.citi-lab.fr/fvalois/).

Responsibilities :
The person recruited is responsible for designing and evaluating new architectural solutions for future cellular networks. While more theoretical approaches are welcome, a preference will be given to ideas practical enough to allow for implementation and experiments on the srsRAN platform.

Steering/Management :
The person recruited will have the possibility to supervise student engineering projects and internships.

Principales activités

Main activities:

  • Prepare written reports and presentations on the recent evolutions of cellular networks in the academic and standardization worlds;
  • Identify and formulate research problems related to the cellular networks field;
  • Design and evaluate solutions for the aforementions research problems;
  • Write scientific papers and reports;


Technical skills and level required :

  • Detailed knowledge of cellular network architectures
  • Excellent writing skills in English
